Miraculous Survival: Street Dog Found with Half His Head Eaten by Maggots

It’s astonishing that this dog was discovered alive. Despite the dire circumstances in which he was found, this resilient canine displayed a remarkable fighting spirit.

According to reports by BBC, India has the highest number of stray dogs globally, with an estimated 30 million strays. Efforts to address this issue include identifying, sterilizing, and vaccinating stray dogs against rabies, although there is a shortage of personnel relative to the large population of dogs.

Upon discovering a dog in Rajasthan, employees of Animal Aid Unlimited were unprepared for the dog’s condition.

The dog had half of her face consumed by maggots and was also suffering from canine distemper, a disease affecting various systems in the dog’s body.

Imagine the distress this poor dog must have endured. Veterinarians had to administer sedation to clean her head and remove the maggots.
