Abandoned on New Year’s Eve: The Heartbreaking Tale of a Loyalty-Tested Pup

Everyone who has a pet would do anything to protect them. Losing a faithful four-legged friend is one of the worst things that can happen.

But unfortunately, there are also people who just dump their animals as if they were toys.

That’s what happened to Camilla, a small dog who was dumped by her own family on New Year’s Eve in Dallas. They abandoned their dog along with some trash. Thankfully, Camilla had her own blanket with her.

Camilla had nothing, not even a bowl of water or food. The family left her there, on the streets of Dallas. Heartless.

But they never returned.

When Marina Tarashevska, director of the animal organization Dallas DogRRR, heard about the little dog’s story, she couldn’t understand how someone could do such a thing.

Marina talked to some neighbors who confirmed that the dog had been callously dumped there.

So she decided to rescue the dog. But it was easier said than done, as the little pup didn’t want to leave her blanket behind.

But Marina had an idea.

She tried to drag the blanket with the dog on it back to her home.

It took an hour until she had brought Camilla on her blanket to her home.

But Camilla was scared and confused. She just wanted to go back to her family.

“When you touched her, she was very scared. She wouldn’t make eye contact and bowed her head. If you got close to her, she backed away,”

Marina knew why Camilla was so scared. She had sores around her neck and ears.

The little dog needed to see a veterinarian, but that wasn’t the only issue. “The vet said it was from a rope around her neck, indicating she was kept outside constantly,” Marina explained.

“We were afraid she would fight with other dogs on the street. Many stray dogs fight for food,” Marina told The Dodo.

Camilla needed surgery on her neck and is being trained to overcome her fears.

According to Patti from Dallas DogRRR, she has made great progress. Her body has healed, and she feels safer among people.

“Now she’s seeking attention again, which is a big difference from before. She even played with a toy again,” Patti told The Dodo.

Camilla now lives in a dog shelter, waiting to be adopted. Patti says it may take a while until she finds a new family.

What a tragic story. I can’t understand how someone could abandon such innocent animals on the streets.

Fortunately, we know that Camilla is doing well now thanks to Patti, Marina, and the other dogs. Hopefully, she will find a new family soon.
