Abba’s Epic Comeback: New Album After 39 Years of Silence!

“When we had these two songs, it felt a bit thin, so we thought, ‘should we not do a few more?’ and that decision led to creating a whole album,” shared Benny Andersson with SVT.

Fans worldwide were overjoyed when Abba finally revealed their big news.

There had been hints from the group some time ago, teasing that something significant was in the works.

It didn’t take long for fans to notice the emergence of a new Twitter account named Abba Voyage.

Speculations quickly circulated regarding the possibility of new music or an upcoming tour.

As it turned out, the speculation was spot on.

Releasing new album

During a press conference on Thursday, the group unveiled their upcoming release.

Not only did they tease the new song “I Still Have Faith in You,” but they also announced a total of 10 new songs on the album.

“When we had these two songs, it felt a bit thin, so we decided to create a whole album,” shared Benny Andersson with SVT.

Their words about the new album

In a press release, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and Björn Ulvaeus expressed:

“It’s been almost 40 years since we last made music together. In spring 1982, we took a break, and now we’ve decided to end that hiatus. It’s a bit reckless to wait over 40 years between albums, so we’ve recorded a sequel to ‘The Visitors.’ Our inspiration came from working on an extraordinary concert experience where we’ll witness our digital avatars perform our songs on a specially constructed stage in London. It’s weird and wonderful!”

The album “Voyage” is set to be released on November 5th.

Abba on tour

Alongside the album release, Abba’s famous Avatars will embark on a tour.

A special show is planned in London, where an arena accommodating 3,000 people will be constructed for the performance. In addition to the digital “abbats” and basses, ten live musicians will be part of the show. The group themselves will not be physically present on stage, as reported by SVT.
