Street dogs are a common sight in Brazil, but witnessing someone donating their jacket to a stray dog is a rare act of kindness. Fortunately, this heartwarming incident was captured on film and has since gone viral around the globe.
Fernando Gabriel and his brother Felipe were at the Sao Paulo station in Brazil waiting for the metro when they noticed a stray dog shivering next to the ticket machines.
Backpack torn
Felipe was moved with compassion for the dog. He took off his backpack and then his jacket. Gabriel recorded his brother as he approached the dog and draped his jacket over its freezing body. As reported by Animal Rescue.
“He took off his jacket and put it over the frozen dog. Completely spontaneous, I found it very moving,” Gabriel recounted to The Dodo.
Even though it was Felipe’s favorite jacket, he selflessly gave it to the dog.
“It’s my favorite jacket, but he looks good in it,” said Felipe.
The stray dog wagged its tail in gratitude, showing appreciation for the act of kindness.

After leaving the station, the brothers felt compelled to help the little dog further. They decided to go back, intending to bring the dog home and offer it a better life.
However, upon reaching the shelter, they couldn’t find the dog anywhere.
The video of their kind gesture was shared online, inspiring thousands of viewers to assist animals in need.
