Following the tragic shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, USA, Joe Garcia, husband of one of the teachers who lost their lives, has tragically passed away from a heart attack.
According to reports from local news stations, Joe’s wife, Irma Garcia, was among the victims of the shooting, and Joe succumbed to the grief just two days after her demise. The couple had been married for 24 years.
Irma Garcia, who heroically shielded her students alongside her colleague Eva Mireles during the shooting, was one of the 21 individuals tragically killed last Tuesday.
In a heartfelt tribute, Irma’s nephews urged others to remember her as a hero and honor her bravery.
Tragically, the family faced another devastating loss when Joe Garcia passed away, shortly after his wife’s demise, leaving behind their four children.
“With deep sadness, I announce the passing of my aunt’s husband, Joe Garcia, due to grief. Words cannot express the pain we are going through. Please keep our family in your prayers as we navigate through this difficult time,” expressed John Martinez.
Joey, Irma’s niece, created a GoFundMe page to support the family during this difficult time and highlighted Joe’s passing due to a broken heart.
“I firmly believe that Joe’s heart couldn’t bear the loss of his lifelong partner. Let’s stand together and advocate for change so no other family has to endure such heartbreaking losses,” stated Debra Austin.
