Amal Clooney’s Influence: George Clooney Embraces Fatherhood

Hollywood has a few power couples that everyone loves. Think of Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Zendaya and Tom Holland, or Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Also Amal Clooney and George Clooney belong in this list. Besides their stunning looks and talent, the couple is also known for their work with the Clooney Foundation for Justice. And it’s not just the outside world that is impressed by this couple, George himself is a big fan of his wife.

Amal Clooney unconsciously made George Clooney want to be a father

In a new interview with The New York Times, the actor praised his wife, who is a human rights lawyer, and how she completely changed his life. He said that he wasn’t really interested in having children until he met Amal. Now, the two share 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.

‘I wasn’t really thinking about fatherhood,’ George told the outlet. ‘Then I met Amal and we fell in love. I have to say, from that moment on, everything fell into place.’ The couple met in 2013, but George thought he didn’t stand a chance with Amal. He was wrong, as the two got married in 2014 and welcomed their children in 2017.

Proud

After more than 10 years of marriage, George remains in awe of his wife. ‘I’m proud to be in the same room with her, I’m proud to be her husband, and I’m proud to be a father to our children with her.’

The actor now focuses on enjoying life with his wife. ‘I had this conversation with Amal when I turned 60,’ he shared. ‘I said look, I can still play full-court basketball. I can still run. I can still do just about everything I did when I was 30. But in 30 years, I’ll be 90. That’s a serious number. My father just reached that age. And there are things you just can’t do then, no matter how many granola bars you eat.’

George continued: ‘I said to Amal: “We have to focus on the next 20 to 25 years and make sure we get everything out of life that we can.” Not only in terms of work, because no one says at the end of their life: “Gosh, I wish I had worked more.”
