Beyond the Body: Celine Dion’s Powerful Message to Online Critics

The term “bodyshaming” (loosely translated: embarrassing someone about their body) is a phenomenon where people are laughed at because they are overweight. But did you know that when people are laughed at for being thinner, it is also considered bodyshaming?

Celine Dion recently faced hateful critics mocking her appearance. Despite this, the 51-year-old singer remained unfazed by the negativity.

After adopting a new clothing style, Dion faced bullying for appearing too thin after her husband’s passing in January 2016.

Despite the criticism, she expressed feeling confident and stated that her appearance reflects her inner self.

Some critics suggested she should change her attire.

“Our previous work style was more conservative,” Dion shared with The Sun.

Despite facing criticism for taking risks, Dion emphasized that she does it for herself. “I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine, and sexy,” she explained.

Addressing her critics, she advised, “If you don’t like my outfits, then don’t take pictures of them.”
