“Being in the right place at the right time”. We are all familiar with that saying. And Jane Harper can definitely relate after her chilling discovery in a river.
The heroic dog was found in a river in England, when someone saw something very shocking.
But thanks to the fact that the woman was in the right place at the right time, the life of this dog was saved. An investigation is currently ongoing.

Jane noticed the dog in the water and saw that he wasn’t moving. She feared the worst and thought he was dead until she took a closer look and saw the true horror.
Resembled a dead dog
The lady was out walking with her own dog when she noticed the other dog. She handed her dog to another passerby and jumped into the cold water. There she discovered that the dog was tied to a rock.
“It looked like a dead dog. But then I saw his eyes blinking. I asked someone to look after my own dog and I jumped in the water,” Jane told BBC News.

“We thought she had just fallen into the river, but when I tried to pull her out of the water I realized she was stuck.
“The water was very murky so I couldn’t see the rock at first. It was horrifying.”

The dog had managed to rest her head on a rock to keep breathing. But when Jane pulled her out of the water, another woman placed a warm blanket over the dog.
“She was completely frozen. We thought she was going to die. It was very emotional,” she told BBC News.
Cruelty to animals
When she was taken to an animal clinic, it was found that she had a microchip. Her name turned out to be Bella and the owners were also able to be traced.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty, reports The Mirror.

The police say the dog is showing signs of improvement but is very ill. They hope the dog can fully recover from her trauma.
