Have you ever wondered who is really better at driving? Well, it’s now proven.
According to researchers in Norway, women are better drivers than men, writes The Daily Mail.
Researchers in Norway studied 1500 people. They looked at aspects such as age, gender, and personality, and analyzed how each factor affects our driving behavior. The study concludes that men are more easily distracted – which according to the researchers makes them poorer drivers.
“A recent report concludes that distracted driving plays a role in at least 12% of car accidents,” Ole Johansson, a researcher at the Institute of Transport Economics in Oslo, told The Daily Mail.
“I saw that young men were the quickest to get distracted. People who get distracted easily are those who spend a lot of time behind the wheel and people with neurotic or extroverted personalities.”
According to the study, older women are the least easily distracted drivers.
Deadliest year for car accidents
In 2016, an estimated 40,000 people died in car accidents, making it the deadliest year for car accidents, with a 14% increase since 2014.
While the results may be fodder for discussions, it’s important that we learn from this research – whoever you are, always give the road your full attention.
