Lead researcher Malka Cohen-Armon explained, “The faster cancer cells proliferate, the faster they are expected to perish.” The research team tested this method on various types of cancer cells such as breast, lung, pancreatic, colon, brain, and ovarian cancers.
Positive results were observed in tests conducted on mice, paving the way for potential human applications in the future.
Cohen-Armon expressed optimism, stating, “Identifying this mechanism and validating its effectiveness in treating established tumors presents new opportunities to eliminate rapidly growing aggressive cancer types without causing harm to healthy tissues.”
