Celine Dion had to halt her world tour due to being diagnosed with ‘Stiff Person Syndrome’ (SPS), a rare autoimmune condition. The 55-year-old singer has been adjusting to life with the disease since it was diagnosed in December 2022.
During this trying time, she has been leaning on her family and fans for comfort and love. On March 15, marking International Stiff-Person Syndrome Awareness Day, Dion shared a precious photo featuring herself with her three sons: René-Charles, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13, whom she shares with her late husband René Angélil.

The photo was taken during a visit to the Las Vegas K1 Speed go-kart race track.

She opened up in her caption, sharing: “Overcoming this autoimmune disease has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. Yet, I remain committed to returning to the stage one day and leading as normal a life as possible.”
Dion expressed her appreciation for the global support she receives and urged others to combat SPS. Fans quickly responded to the photo’s significance. One fan commented: “Your singing is incredibly beautiful and moving. It brings tears to my eyes. I’m grateful for people like you.” Another wrote: “We miss you and adore you, Celine!”
“I want to assure you that it’s possible! We can make it happen!” she wrote.

Since her diagnosis, the singer has faced challenges, prompting her to step back from the limelight. However, in February, she graced the Grammy’s stage, accompanied by her son RenĂ©-Charles. The audience’s enthusiastic response to her appearance moved her to tears, as she expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you all. My happiness to be here is genuine.”
Earlier this month, she was seen in New York giving a thumbs-up in photos, symbolizing her resilience following the diagnosis.
Last October, Dion attended a Montreal Canadiens hockey game in Las Vegas with her three sons, marking her first public appearance since revealing her SPS diagnosis. In February, she attended another game, demonstrating her determination to reclaim a semblance of normalcy in her life.
