Chance Encounter: Woman Discovers Hedgehog in Distress Along Roadside

On her way home from work, Raelene Prieb spotted something out of the ordinary on the roadside that left her puzzled at first.

Driving back to Saskatchewan in Canada on a snowy day, she noticed what seemed like a hairball near the road. Intrigued, she examined it through the snow and realized it was a hedgehog struggling in the thick snow. This heartwarming incident was reported by The Dodo.

Raelene didn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand to the distressed hedgehog.

Her act of kindness has quickly gained widespread attention.

Although hedgehogs are not commonly seen in Canada, the North American tree porcupine is a unique species found in the country’s southern forests and parts of the United States. These porcupines typically reside in trees, among leaves and fruits.
