Turkey is recognized for its compassion towards street dogs and cats. Numerous businesses offer them shelter during harsh winters.
One particular company stands out for its efforts to provide street dogs with a comfortable place to rest.
Dr. Cem Baykal noticed two street dogs resting on a mattress outside a furniture store on his way to work recently.
Instead of lying on the ground, the dogs were nestled on a mattress!

It was evident that the store owners had provided a mattress outside for the dogs.
“The store owner placed a mattress on the street, outside the store, covered with plastic,” Baykal shared with The Dodo.
“These two street dogs immediately lay down to sleep on it.”
Baykal mentioned that he had developed a bond with the dogs. One of them even assisted him in crossing the street on a rainy day.
He also highlighted that the store frequently goes the extra mile to aid local street dogs, offering water and shade during the summer.
Even in a community known for its charitable acts, this furniture store’s gesture is remarkable.
“While the neighborhood is quite affluent and everyone provides food or water to local animals, no one offers them a comfortable bed,” Baykal remarked. “This store does.”
