In Maryland, USA, a young man caused public outrage by throwing a chick from a bridge through his car window and sharing the disturbing footage on Snapchat.
In April of this year, a video surfaced on social media depicting a man in his twenties callously throwing a defenseless chick out of a car window while speeding along.
This heartless act occurred on the Chesapeake Bridge in Maryland.
The video captures the driver and passengers laughing as they carry out this heinous act.
Tragically, the young chick was too inexperienced to fly and perished as a result.
Police Investigation
Fortunately, the video came to the attention of law enforcement. Authorities are currently looking into the matter.
Inspector Brady McCormick revealed that the incident occurred on April 18 around 6:30 pm. The perpetrator has been identified and is now facing charges for multiple counts of animal abuse. He may be sentenced to up to three years in prison, as reported by Animal Rescue.
Public Reaction
Many who viewed the distressing footage are calling for severe consequences for the perpetrator.
“Individuals like these are inexcusable. They lack humanity. Anyone who harms innocent animals or children is disturbed. I hope justice is served harshly,” expressed a Twitter user.
“Animal cruelty should never be trivialized. No justification exists for such behavior. Appalling,” added another.
