Darth Vader Defends Decision to Let Toddler Play with Python

You can’t browse through social media without coming across a friend’s child playing with their pet. While it’s typically cats or dogs, sometimes it could be a snake!

Meet Nay-Nay, a 4-meter long Burmese python residing with a family in Michigan, USA.

Owner Jamie Guarino has raised Nay-Nay since she was a baby snake, but she has now grown into a sizable snake capable of causing harm swiftly.

Despite this, Jamie treats the snake affectionately like a cat or dog, even allowing his three young children to interact with the python.

Jamie even posted a video showcasing the snake playing with his 14-month-old daughter, sparking a significant reaction online.

Despite having a passion for snakes since he was 16, Jamie aims to change the negative perceptions surrounding snakes.

In this video, you can witness his toddler daughter lying on the floor while the snake moves over her.

“This individual adores snakes, which is understandable, but fails to recognize the dangerous nature of this animal, particularly around young children!” a comment on YouTube as reported by ABC7 News stated.

Many argue that as long as the snake feels safe and fed, having them around is not an issue.

However, the local Oakland government holds a different opinion. An investigation has been initiated to verify if the child is at risk of neglect or abuse. Report from Oakland Free Press.
