A dying buffalo managed to pierce the leg of Chris Mcsherry, the hunter who had shot it. The buffalo then died. The hunter ended up in the hospital.
Sources report that Mcsherry had encountered the buffalo during an afternoon of archery in Port Bradshaw, Australia. He aimed two arrows at the animal in an attempt to kill it, but the buffalo ran away.
Mcsherry and a friend followed the blood trail, leading to the discovery of the animal. They eventually found the beast in a large pool of blood.

In a Facebook post, Mcsherry explained how his friend mercifully put the animal out of its misery with a few extra bullets.
But the buffalo had other plans. In a final effort, and despite his severe injuries, the beast pierced the hunter’s leg twice, resulting in a large wound above his right knee and a deep gaping hole on his rear end.

Mcsherry shared that he suffered “reasonable wounds” during the whole ordeal. He was transported to Darwin Hospital where he had to undergo two surgeries. He will have severe scars from the entire incident.
Elenie Bromot, Mcsherry’s partner, shared the following:
“I just wanted to inform everyone. Chris is doing well and currently undergoing surgeries. Thank you to everyone for the support to me and the girls. It means a lot to us. Thanks to everyone who went to visit him in the hospital. I appreciate you all. Hopefully, he’ll be back home soon.”
Chris Mcsherry also gave a statement:
“Buffalo is dead, and I’m alive. Hopefully, I can be back with my friends and family soon. Thank you for all the well wishes, I appreciate your love and support and will KEEP HUNTING!”
