Devastated Father Shares Photo of Deceased Wife and Baby – Calls for Stricter Laws Against Driving Under the Influence

Getting behind the wheel after drinking too much alcohol is always a bad idea. Most people would agree. Your reaction time is slower, your vision becomes impaired, and in just a few seconds you could cause an accident. And the worst part is that the person in question believes they have control over the wheel.

In Sweden, for example, 80 people die each year in an alcohol-related car accident. In the United States, the allowed alcohol consumption is much higher, leading to more accidents.

Zach Kincaid, a young father, is now trying to tighten the laws on alcohol and driving. He is doing this after losing his pregnant wife and their unborn child in a car accident when a drunk driver hit them.

Pregnant woman killed by drunk driver

It’s been more than a year now since Zach’s life turned upside down. His wife, Krystil, was only 29 years old and eight months pregnant when she was driving home one day. She was on the phone with her husband using the speakerphone.

In October of the same year, Krystil and Zach had a daughter. They already had a child together.

When Krystil was driving home that day in her minivan, she let her husband Zach know she was on her way. What no one knew at the time was that it would be the last time Zach would hear her voice.

He lost his wife and unborn child

In seconds, a BMW came speeding down the road, heading straight for Krystil’s car, causing a large fire to immediately erupt.

Behind the wheel of the BMW was a drunk 29-year-old. He survived the accident, but the unborn baby was instantly killed.

The young woman was pulled from the burning car wreck and taken to the hospital. Her condition was so critical that she had to be kept alive on a respirator.

“Look, this is what drunk driving did to me,” says Krystil’s husband Zach in an emotional video, while his wife lies in a hospital bed.

Eventually, Krystil succumbed to her injuries.

Many find it shocking that Zach shared photos of his deceased wife and their baby in the coffin, but Zach wants to make a difference.

Politicians only think about their own interests

“A drunk driver driving 136 kilometers per hour in a street where the allowed speed is 90 destroyed my family. The maximum penalty for killing my wife and daughter is ten years,” wrote Zach.

Zach is now fighting for stricter penalties against drunk driving. The fact that the maximum sentence is ten years is because the legal system assumes it was an accident.

“This scumbag will have self-pity and never learn to take responsibility. The fact that he will only get 5 years in prison after destroying my and my daughters’, lives breaks me,” writes Zach.

He continues:

“It’s disgusting that politicians and policymakers care more about their political position and self-interest than the lives and safety of the people in our society. Demand change before the same thing happens to your family,” writes the father.
