Doctor’s Warning: Lash Lice in Eyelash Extensions
Many women use eyelash extensions to get some more volume in their eyes. Fairly innocent, right? Nothing bad can come of that, can it?
Wrong. Or at least in certain cases. Sources report that optometrists are now warning of the increasing number of cases of lice in eyelashes.
ABC13 reports that people who regularly use eyelash extensions should clean their lashes on time. Failing to clean the lashes properly can lead to a build-up of bacteria, which can lead to even more problems.

Symptoms of eyelash lice include itching, redness, and inflammation.
Just like head lice, eyelash lice can also jump from one person to another.
Dr. Sairah Malik explains that a lack of hygiene leads to a build-up of various bacteria.
“When using eyelash extensions, people are afraid to touch or wash them because they fear the lash will break,” says Dr. Malik.
“We recommend a cleanser based on tea tree oil. Any cleanser made from tea tree oil can be used daily.”
Furthermore, Dr. Malik thinks it’s a good idea to occasionally keep your lashes natural without extensions.
Well, I’ll definitely pay attention to this from now on after reading this.
