When Pogo the dog returned home and his owners saw him, they were in for a surprise. However, there was a simple explanation for the unusual sight.
On an ordinary day, Gemma McAdam and her friend were taken aback when they laid eyes on their dog, Pogo, covered from head to paw in what appeared to be blood.
“We both panicked. We thought he had injured himself, so I checked the kitchen for anything sharp while my friend held him still to inspect for wounds,” said Gemma McAdam to The Dodo.
“Little did we know, he was actually overjoyed to see us; his tail was wagging happily. Even if he was hurt, he couldn’t contain his excitement.”

Thankfully, Gemma didn’t let panic set in for too long, as it turned out that Pogo had just been exploring a pot of paint inside the house.
“That’s when we breathed a sigh of relief. When we spotted the hair dye container, everything fell into place,” they shared on Instagram.
The mystery was solved—it was the playful pup who had accidentally knocked over the paint pot, a mistake he wouldn’t repeat.
They discovered the broken pot in Pogo’s bed.
Pogo was unharmed, and now he had a humorous tale to share. If he ever returns home looking like he’s been in a bloody mess again, his owners will know the real story…
