Dumped in Trash, Found Love: Abandoned 10-Week-Old Puppy’s Happy Ending

It is truly sad to witness how some individuals mistreat animals. Animals are sometimes treated as if they are disposable, with numerous stories emerging about abandoned pets being discovered in trash cans and dumpsters.

Recently, a 10-week-old puppy named Oscar had a similar fate – abandoned and left in a trash can. Fortunately, his story took a positive turn.

As per a Facebook post from the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center, an employee from Columbus (USA) working in a local park heard distressing sounds coming from a trash can.

Upon investigation, he discovered Oscar, the 10-week-old puppy, abandoned at the bottom of the trash can.

Oscar, the abandoned puppy, was then taken to the Franklin County Dog Shelter, where he received the necessary care and medical attention.

While it is disheartening to think about the abandonment of this adorable dog and the fear and loneliness he must have experienced, there was hope.

The shelter recently held an “empty the shelter” event, which turned out to be a great success: reportedly, 200 dogs were adopted this week.

Amongst them was Oscar, who found his forever home. The shelter shared a picture of Oscar with his new family, who undoubtedly will provide him with the love he deserves, unlike his previous owner.

This serves as a reminder of the importance of adopting dogs from shelters. Thanks to all the compassionate individuals who opted to adopt, Oscar and other shelter dogs now have caring homes, enabling the shelter to accommodate even more pets in need.

“Even though Oscar cannot express his gratitude, we can,” expressed the Franklin County Dog Shelter. “We are immensely thankful for our community’s continuous support in aiding animals in distress and advocating for those who cannot speak up. Thanks to the generosity and empathy of our community, thousands of homeless animals, like Oscar, now live better and healthier lives. Thank you!”

We are delighted that Oscar has been adopted and has transitioned from a trash can to a loving new home! ❀️
