“End of times”
An unidentified father and six children were found in the basement, claiming to be ‘waiting for the end of times’.
The farmhouse owner, a 58-year-old man, refused to cooperate and was taken into custody.
Son Seeks Help at Cafe
RTV Drenthe reported that the eldest son, a 25-year-old man, appeared confused at a café, seeking assistance and ordering five beers.
Police were alerted and uncovered a hidden staircase behind a closet in the living room.
Self-Sustained Living
The family subsisted on homegrown produce and a goat, living in near seclusion at the farmhouse.
Unanswered Questions
According to police, the children had no knowledge of the outside world or other people. The whereabouts of the mother remain unknown.
The investigation is ongoing, leaving more questions than answers at present.
