End of an Era: No More Cigarettes in Supermarkets and Gas Stations – Parliament Approves

The Christian government parties CDA and the ChristenUnie want to end the sale of cigarettes in gas stations and supermarkets as soon as possible, the ANP reports.

The parties claim to have a majority in the House of Representatives supporting them, although co-governing party VVD is absent.

Recently, it was agreed that the number of tobacco sales outlets must be reduced. One solution for this intention would be to allow sales only in specialty stores.
