Exciting News: Scientists Discover Cell that Can Kill Cancer Cells

Cancer is a terrible disease, and so far there is no cure for the deadly disease.

Scientists Discover Cell that Can Kill Cancer Cells

But it appears that British scientists have now made significant progress in their search for a treatment for cancers such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, and lung cancer. That’s according to BBC.

British scientists are hoping for a breakthrough in the treatment of the relentless disease. They claim to have found a new type of cell that can kill other cancer cells.

The so-called T-cell is immune and searches for invaders in the body that make us, humans, sick. According to the scientists, this cell can eradicate different types of cancer cells.

Researchers are now hoping that with this cell, they can develop a universal medication against all types of cancer. This was reported by BBC.

“This T-cell can eradicate various cancer cells. It gives us the opportunity to treat all cancer patients with the same cure,” says Professor Andrew Sewell, one of the researchers behind the discovery, as reported by BBC Health.

Are There People Who Are Immune?

The “new” T-cell was previously unknown and was discovered by accident. When it was officially recognized, the question arose whether there were already people carrying the cell, and thus immune to cancer.

“It’s possible that some people are already carriers of the cells, but we don’t know how often this occurs. It might be rare. It could also be that many people have the cell, but it’s not active yet,” says Professor Andrew Sewell to Newsweek Magazine.

Experts tell the BBC that this is a very exciting breakthrough and there is hope to treat all cancers in the future. However, the research is still in its early stages. For example, it has not yet been tested on patients.
