Every dog owner has their own ideas about discipline, but what happened to the six-week-old terrier Tuffy crossed all boundaries.
When Tuffy’s owner caught him chewing on a mobile phone in 2015, the response was horrific, as reported by Animals Asia, a group dedicated to ending animal cruelty.

According to Animals Asia, the individual poured boiling water on Tuffy before throwing him from a fourth-floor apartment in Chengdu, China.

Despite the severe ordeal, Tuffy miraculously survived and was rescued by Yan Yingying, a woman who rushed him to an animal clinic an hour away from the scene.

Emily Drayton, a veterinarian at Animals Asia, was deeply moved by Tuffy’s condition upon arrival at the clinic.
“I was appalled and deeply affected by the senseless act. Witnessing an animal in such agony was overwhelming. I had never seen such suffering before,” she expressed.
Given that animals with over 50% burns typically do not survive, Tuffy’s 60% body coverage presented a daunting challenge, requiring around-the-clock care.

Enduring unimaginable pain, Tuffy received dedicated care from a compassionate team, gradually progressing in his recovery over months.
Yan, Tuffy’s rescuer, remained steadfast in her support and eventually adopted him, offering him a loving home, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Jill Robinson, founder of Animals Asia, hailed Tuffy’s incredible comeback as nothing short of a miracle.
“Surviving burns on over 60% of one’s body is extraordinary. Tuffy’s resilience against such odds is remarkable, considering the trauma he endured. His journey is an inspiring testament to his strength,” stated Robinson.
Robinson emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and composure when faced with such distressing situations in animal welfare.

The fate of Tuffy’s initial owner remains unknown, with hopes that they faced consequences for their actions.
Today, Tuffy and Yan share a wonderful life together.
