It’s every responder’s worst nightmare: arrive at the scene of an accident and find someone you love.
Yet, that was the tragic situation Adrian Smith found himself in. The 47-year-old firefighter was called to a car accident and found his 21-year-old daughter, Ella Brooke Smith.
According to the Daily Mirror, the father and daughter had said goodbye earlier that day before Ella left for the coast.

Adrian had been working with his fellow firefighters when he received a call later that day about a multiple-vehicle accident with fire involved.
At the accident, which occurred in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, three vehicles were involved in a collision. When Adrian arrived at the scene, he realized his daughter was among those involved.
Police stated that Ella, who was training to become a nurse, passed away at the scene. Three others were seriously injured.
Adrian posted a photo on social media showing him and a very young Ella dancing at a family party: “We are totally devastated by the loss of our beloved Ella. She was a very loving and caring daughter, sister, and granddaughter.”
“She was a beautiful girl who will be missed by all. We want to thank everyone for their support during this awful time. It means a lot to the entire family as we mourn Ella.”
“Nightmare”
A friend of Ella’s family said, “You can’t imagine how Adrian must feel. It’s the worst nightmare for a responder to find your own child as a victim.”
“They are such a lovely family. Ella was always so lively with her whole future ahead of her.”
Rest in peace, Ella. A beautiful, young soul taken too soon.
