From Near Death to Miracle Dog: A Story of Resilience and Hope

When the “Stray Rescue of Saint Louis” in Missouri, U.S.A., first encountered Harris the dog, his survival seemed unlikely.

Yet, both Harris and the rescue center staff demonstrated incredible strength, ultimately saving his life.

This heartwarming story showed that miracles are indeed possible.

It was in mid-March 2019 when Harris, an extremely malnourished, ill, and abused dog, was brought to the Stray Rescue of Saint Louis center.

On their website, the center emphasized, “We must never stop the fight against animal abuse.”

A compassionate passerby discovered Harris beneath a blanket on the roadside and rushed him to the center for help.

His condition was critical – unresponsive, immobile, necessitating round-the-clock monitoring.

“Through hell”

Veterinarians administered antibiotics, pain relief, infusions, and treated his severe wounds.

“Now we just have to wait, he has clearly been through hell,” the center shared on its website.

Days passed, and the resilient pup was named Harris, as the team tirelessly fought to sustain his life.

Some staff members even spent nights at the center, providing comfort and affection to a dog who seemed to have never experienced such care.
