It’s often said that cats pick their humans, and that was certainly true for the orange tabby in this tale who made a life-changing decision to leave the streets behind.
On Valentine’s Day, Jaelle noticed an orange cat outside her Canadian home, pleading to come indoors.
Unable to ignore the feline’s plight in the cold, Jaelle welcomed him inside, knowing he needed help to survive.
Her act of kindness set off a series of events that would alter their destinies forever.
Those who truly care for animals will go to great lengths to assist them in times of need.
Witnessing an animal in distress prompts many to act decisively, just as in the case of a cat named Aslan.
Having endured the harsh outdoors for an extended period, Aslan knew he had to find sustenance urgently to avoid succumbing to the freezing temperatures.
In a desperate plea for aid, Aslan approached a random household and began scratching at the back door in hopes of being let in.
Seeking Assistance
Hearing the commotion, Jaelle peered out the window and spotted the forlorn feline.
Upon seeing the severely battered cat, Jaelle wasted no time and ushered him into the warmth of her home.
Incidentally, Jaelle happened to work at a veterinary clinic, enabling her to seek help from her colleague, Marie Simard.
“Seeing him in that state broke my heart. I advised her to take him to the vet, and within half an hour, we were there,” she shared with Bored Panda.
“Once at the vet’s, he calmed down, allowing the vet to conduct a thorough examination. Despite the blood tests and x-rays, he remained unfazed.”

Heartless Owners Untraceable
Diagnostics revealed that Aslan lacked a microchip, complicating efforts to locate his owner.
Subsequently, they undertook his care themselves, showering him with the love and attention he deserved.
“We suspect he was abandoned by negligent owners. We encounter many such cases of abandonment due to financial constraints or inability to care for the animals. We scoured every possible avenue but found no leads,” remarked Marie Simard.
At the veterinary clinic, it was discovered that Aslan suffered from decayed teeth, hypothermia, an infected bite wound, a festering injury, as well as infestations of lice and worms, alongside diabetes and a skin allergy. The poor kitty.
Aslan’s Present Life
Further examinations unveiled a festering wound, lice and worms infestations, diabetes, and a skin allergy. Heartbreaking.
“His bloodwork was concerning, necessitating several days of intensive care at the clinic before being placed with his new adoptive family.”
Today, Aslan enjoys the loving and secure life he always deserved.
At the shelter where Marie worked, Aslan developed strong bonds with other animals, prompting his new family to return him to this familiar environment.
“Aslan is a gentle soul. Swiftly adapting to his indoor life, he grew fond of napping and cuddling with his feline companions.”
Congratulations, Aslan! Every creature merits a caring and nurturing home!
