In late March, ambulance personnel in Bodmin, England, responded to a call for someone experiencing a severe allergic reaction.
Time was of the essence as they needed to reach the patient quickly.
Reported by The Sun, the patient’s life was at risk if the ambulance didn’t arrive promptly.
After spending nearly two hours treating the patient, the ambulance crew returned to find an unwelcome note on their windshield. Someone had left a handwritten message in capital letters.
The blunt message read: “PRIVATE CAR PARKING ONLY. DO NOT PARK HERE.”
The ambulance driver shared the incident on social media, expressing disappointment. The hospital also expressed dismay at the discourteous act.
According to the driver, the ambulance prominently displayed a “Ambulance Service First Responder” sign on the windshield.
“Just finished the 3rd and final call of the day, assisting a patient with a possible allergic reaction. Spent nearly 2 hours on site and returned to the vehicle to discover this note – despite the ‘Ambulance Service First Responder’ sign being clearly visible on the window. Very disheartening,” Bodmin Responder tweeted on March 31.

In another tweet, the responder expressed frustration at being asked to move the ambulance while attending to another patient on a different occasion.
“Following the last tweet, the crew were also asked to move the ambulance while treating the patient. Why do people not realize we are there to help you, sometimes meaning we park where necessary – we are not here to cause inconvenience!”
“Some people are incredibly”
Fortunately, many people have shown support for the ambulance team, understanding the critical nature of their work…
One user commented: “Incredible, some people. Just ignore. Keep going. #makingadifference.”
Another said: “Ignore it, mate. Very little point in engaging in a conversation with these people.”
A third person added: “This is becoming a common issue. Some people really lack compassion. If it was one of their loved ones or even themselves in need, I am sure they would think differently about leaving a note on the screen of the person treating them #unhelpful #nocomparison.”
Regrettably, this is not an isolated incident. Remember, never tolerate verbal abuse or disrespect towards ambulance personnel.
Share this story if you find this behavior completely unacceptable. When an ambulance parks, it’s often in a bid to save a life. Think before you act!
