Furry Friend to the Rescue: No One Wants a “Stone Dog” When they Lose their Fur

Real animal lovers do everything we can to help and protect animals.

For example, when you take on an animal, the responsibilities are similar to having a child. You have to take care of it through thick and thin.

No excuses. When I heard a story of how a dog was abused, my heart bled.

All living beings deserve to be treated with love and respect. For us, animal lovers, this is self-evident. Unfortunately, we still hear far too many stories of animal abuse.

The organization “This is Houston” recently found a 5-year-old dog on the street. The poor dog had been left to fend for herself for years and had become depressed as a result.

Madelyn had lost all her fur and her skin was so neglected that it was hard to recognize her as a dog. That was reported by The Mirror.

Because she had lost all her fur, her skin looked like stone.

Heart Problems Discovered

As if that wasn’t enough, animal lovers discovered that Madelyn was in extreme pain and had a heart condition that urgently needed surgery.

But despite all her health issues, a dog has a heart, a soul, and a spirit that need love. Little Madelyn had been neglected for a long time, that much is clear. “Saving her was the best thing that happened to her,” the animal organization wrote on Facebook.

“Tragically, she has a serious health issue. Her heart is enlarging and we don’t know why. But what we do know is that she has a warm and positive spirit, that is all we know.”

They further wrote that they will investigate her health condition, but for now, Madelyn is safe.

“You are safe now,” they told her. “We will prove to you that you deserve attention and love and everything you could dream of. Fight and we will do the rest.”

New Home

Some time later, the animal organization announced that Madelyn started to feel better after receiving the necessary care.

Although the road to recovery is still long, there is at least a new ray of light in her life.

Madelyn has since found a new foster family.

So nice to hear. You deserve all the love and happiness, little Madelyn!
