Violence against emergency responders is a strange issue that should never occur, yet sadly, it is becoming more common.
Recently, an ambulance worker in Mariahoeve, The Hague, had a distressing experience as reported by AD.
A patient requiring immediate resuscitation was being loaded into the ambulance when one of the workers set up a case on the street to halt traffic.
Man threatens brother over ‘hindrance’
A 29-year-old man took offense to this action. The interruption caused by the life-saving efforts seemed to greatly irritate him, leading him to threaten the ambulance worker.

He then menacingly drove away in his car, revving the engine while in neutral.
“The ambulance workers were put in a very frightening situation. They were deeply shocked and disturbed by what happened. They were in the midst of trying to save a life. It’s completely unacceptable how the man reacted,” said a police spokesperson to Algemeen Dagblad.
A complaint has been lodged against the aggressive individual.
Patient deceased
Adding to the tragedy, the patient ultimately passed away. However, the police spokesperson reassured in the newspaper that despite the interference by the selfish individual, the ambulance workers were still able to carry out their duties effectively.
Such a profoundly sad incident. How self-centered can someone be?
