Heroic Cat Takes on Two Coyotes to Save Dog! You Won’t Believe What Happens Next

Cats and dogs are typically seen as sworn enemies, but many pet owners will tell you otherwise.

Cats and dogs are typically seen as sworn enemies, as in old sayings like “fighting like cats and dogs,” but many pet owners will tell you that these animals actually get along fine and can be best friends.

And they support each other when danger arises. That was recently the case when a cat fought off two coyotes to save her dog sister.

Lane Dyer from Edmond, Oklahoma, is the owner of two pets, a 6-year-old white Havanese named Oakley, and a black cat named Binx, who showed up as a stray when she was two months old, according to KFOR.

Dyer told the newspaper that the two animals were “opposites,” but still got along well as family – a bond that was recently proven when one of them was in mortal danger.

On November 30, Oakley was out in the yard to go to the bathroom when suddenly a coyote appeared and attacked the small dog. Oakley was overwhelmed by the wild animal, and when a second coyote appeared, it seemed like Oakley was doomed.

But then an unlikely hero came to the rescue: Binx leaped at the coyotes, scaring them away from their attack and causing them to retreat.

Watch the incredible moment here:

Oakley remained in bad shape, reportedly “gushing blood” from her chest and leg.

The Dyers rushed her to a nearby hospital; while veterinarians initially thought they would have to amputate the dog’s leg, fortunately the leg was saved.

As Oakley was on her way to a full recovery, the owners watched the security tape and discovered their cat’s life-saving heroism. Lane Dyer called the rescue “the craziest thing ever” and was proud of Binx for saving her dog.

“Honestly, it is quite inspiring,” he told KFOR. “It was inspiring to see our little outdoor cat jump on two coyotes attacking this dog she loves and scare them off.”

We are so glad that Oakley is safe and alive, all thanks to her heroic cat sister Binx! Thank you for standing up against these wild coyotes and saving the day!
