Heroic Delivery Driver Saves Two Dogs from Drowning in Pool

It’s always inspiring when ordinary people turn into heroes. Pets and animals often find themselves in danger, needing human assistance, and it’s heartwarming when individuals step in to save the day. In many instances, delivery drivers have been the unexpected heroes, being in the right place at the right time to offer a helping hand, especially when no one else is around.

Recently, a UPS driver became a hero by rescuing two dogs from drowning in a pool.

Colin Mitchell, the UPS driver, was delivering a package to a house in Ireton, Iowa (USA), when he noticed two dogs struggling in the pool, as reported by KMEG.

Colin realized that the dogs were unattended as the homeowners weren’t present. The dogs had somehow made their way into the fenced pool area and were struggling to stay afloat. “I saw a dog hanging on the edge of the pool and I saw another dog swimming around on the sun deck,” Colin recounted to KMEG.

He managed to rescue the smaller dog, Groot, easily, but the larger dog, Remington, proved more challenging to save due to its weight of 50 pounds.

After ensuring both dogs were safe in the yard, Colin continued his delivery route. The homeowners, Jeff and Rebecca Marra, later learned about the rescue and expressed their gratitude for saving their dogs’ lives.

“If he hadn’t been there, we wouldn’t have dogs anymore, there’s no doubt about it, and I’d say he’s a hero,” the couple told the news station.

According to KTIV, the couple mentioned that the dogs would have remained in the pool for an additional three hours if Colin hadn’t intervened.

The situation could have turned tragic as the dogs might have exhausted themselves and drowned. Thankfully, the timely intervention of the UPS driver prevented such a grim outcome.

Kudos to Colin for his remarkable efforts in saving these beloved dogs from a potentially fatal incident! A true hero indeed!
