Inside Meghan Markle’s Film ‘With Love, Meghan’ – Why It Wasn’t Filmed at Home in Montecito

Meghan Markle’s latest Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, debuted on Tuesday. Viewers eager to catch a glimpse of the Duchess of Sussex’s actual home may be disappointed to learn that the stunning estate featured in the series is in fact a nearby rental property selected to emulate her famous Montecito residence.

This is the reason Meghan opted not to film With Love, Meghan at her own residence

Meghan decided against filming at her home to safeguard her children, Archie and Lilibet. She told People: ‘I wanted to protect that safe haven. We are a close family and I love those moments – putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, spending time together at the end of the day, which is sacred. Our kitchen is where mom just cooks for the family, and with a crew of over 80 people, those are a lot of people to have in your house.’

Although her children did visit the set. ‘Archie did the film clapboard. Sweet moments,’ Meghan fondly recalled. ‘They also came with my husband to visit me on set, and I loved that my children could see me at work and understand the balance of it and understand what mom does and what she works on to create and share. It was truly special, because until then they had never seen me at work.’ She also added: ‘I hope that when they are old enough, they will feel really proud to have been part of the beginning of this with me.’

The Duchess of Sussex shared that the Montecito community has respected her family’s privacy. ‘Once you get to know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as they, no matter how unique our situation is,’ she expressed.

With Love, Meghan is now streaming on Netflix.
