Kate Middleton is gradually resuming her public responsibilities and recently joined the royal family at the annual Commonwealth Day service held at Westminster Abbey.
Kate Middleton’s Outfit for Commonwealth Day
She opted for a red dress by Catherine Walker adorned with a large bow at the front and wore a hat by Gina Foster. Interestingly, this dress is a piece she previously wore in 2021 during a Christmas service.

Adding a regal touch, she accessorized with Queen Elizabeth’s pearl necklace, featuring a diamond clasp at the center. This Garrad necklace, initially gifted to Queen Elizabeth in the 1970s, became synonymous with Diana when she wore it early in her royal duties.
During her last Commonwealth Day appearance in 2023, she wore a coordinated navy ensemble by Erdem, complemented with the Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch and earrings once worn by Princess Diana.
In Remission
This marked Kate‘s eighth attendance at the service and her second as the Princess of Wales; she was absent last year due to recuperating from a stomach surgery, which was later disclosed to be related to a cancer diagnosis. Also in attendance were King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. King Charles missed last year’s event due to his own battle with cancer.
Having spent a significant part of 2024 out of the public eye due to her cancer treatment, Kate confirmed earlier this year that she is now in remission. She shared in a personal message, ‘I am focusing on my recovery,’ acknowledging the adjustment period post-cancer diagnosis. ‘Looking ahead, I am hopeful for the upcoming year. There is much to anticipate.’
