A little over four years ago, Fred made headlines internationally.
When a group of orphaned ducklings was left alone, he took them under his care.
At ten years old, he became a father figure to the ducklings, showering them with the love and warmth they lacked.
In photos, the joyful father could be seen radiating happiness as the ducklings sought his affection.
Now, four years later, Fred is in the spotlight once again.
Welcoming a new batch of ducklings
Fred and his owner Jeremy Goldsmith, frequent visitors to Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted, England, faced a new challenge recently.
A mother duck disappeared from the castle area one night and didn’t return.
Her ducklings were left bewildered and alone – who would care for them now?
That’s when Fred lovingly stepped in.
He now looks after the adorable ducklings as if they were his own offspring.
“In the 15 years Fred has been with me, he has spent a lot of time with the animals in the castle, and it’s only natural for him to assist the rescued animals,” owner Jeremy shared with the Daily Mail.

The castle houses abandoned animals that have found a home there.
Fred has become a friend to all, ensuring everyone’s well-being in the environment.
He cares for the ducklings until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
Until then, Papa Fred revels in the joys of life with his cherished brood.
