Life-Saving Loyal Friend: Dog Saves Man from Near-Death Heart Attack in His Sleep

Dogs have the ability to sense things that we humans do not feel. I am not talking about their keen sense of smell and sight, but about how they feel when something is wrong.

This extra sense can sometimes mean the difference between life and death, and therefore something we should appreciate in our loyal and four-legged friends.

If the dog Cheyenne had not been there, this man would probably not be alive today.

Many fatal heart attacks occur during sleep. The person in question has no time to understand what is happening, or even able to get help.

The dog Cheyenne, a six-year-old mix between a pitbull and labrador, felt something was wrong with his 56-year-old owner Ken.

Had a massive heart attack in my sleep

In the middle of the night, Ken was woken up by the dog banging hard with her paw on his back while he lay on his side.

“She was just touching my body. She has never done anything like this,” says Ken, who understood that his girl was trying to tell him something.

When Ken woke up, he felt extreme pain in his chest. It was so painful that he had difficulty breathing. Because he had never felt anything like it before and the pain was making it difficult to breathe, he took his car and went to the emergency room.

Pitbull saved his owner’s life

There, it turned out that Ken had suffered a severe heart attack in his sleep, one that would have quickly taken his life if he had not been awakened by his dog.

“Many people do not like pitbulls, but they are the sweetest and most family-friendly dogs when raised well,” says 56-year-old Ken, who owes his life to Cheyenne.
