Not long ago, Richard Gere, now 70, became a father again.
Last February, Richard and his 35-year-old wife Alejandra Silva welcomed a little son.
Although the child is a product of love between Gere and his wife Alejandra, both have children from previous marriages.
In Gere’s case, it is his 20-year-old son Homer James Jigme, whom he raised with his ex-wife Carey Lowell.

Richard Gere rose to fame in American Gigolo and iconic films like Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman.
Shortly after, Gere met his first wife, model and actress Cindy Crawford. The couple is said to have met at a barbecue.
“We chatted, went on a date, and then another,” said Crawford.
Soon they became the hottest couple in Hollywood. Wherever they went, they were followed by the paparazzi.
Gere and Crawford appeared on the red carpet and on the covers of many magazines. They dined at the best restaurants in New York and Los Angeles. But Gere was hesitant about marrying his younger love.
But in December 1991, the couple wed in Las Vegas. It was a modest ceremony attended by some guests.
“It was the wedding I dreamt of. It was last minute,” Crawford said then.
Four years later, the couple divorced. Cindy Crawford has always maintained that the age difference was too great.
She was 22 while Richard was already 39.
“I think when I was 22, I thought ‘Ok, I’ll do it,’ but then you think ‘Well, maybe I don’t want to.’ Sometimes you want to take charge, while other times you prefer to stay in the background,” she admitted.
Seven years after his failed marriage, Gere married model and actress Carey Lowell.
In February 2000, the couple welcomed their first and only child, Homer Gere.
During his relationship with Crawford, Gere was hesitant about having children. But with Carey Lowell, everything was different.
“It was actually quite simple. I never had trouble with children. Carey had a child from a previous marriage, and it was a natural reaction to care for this child and have our own child together. It was spontaneous and right,” he told The Guardian in 2002.
Homer was born in New York City and his parents named him Jigme, a Tibetan name, referring to the actor’s involvement in human rights groups in Tibet.
“The trivial no longer gets to me, compared to the things that really matter in life. All the clichés about parenthood are true,” Gere said.
Homer soon found himself in the spotlight as his parents became famous.
When his father and mother divorced in 2003, a lot was written about the family’s private life.
There were many rumors about the divorce, and again Homer found himself in the spotlight as his parents fought over custody.
Carey Lowell gave in to Richard’s demands, as she hadn’t worked for many years. She claimed she had put her career on hold for Gere and his son Homer, and she would have claimed half of his income since their marriage in 2002.
Homer Gere has a half-sister named Hannah Dunne, from his mother Carey’s previous marriage to actor and producer Thomas Dunne.
Last year, Homer welcomed his half-brother when Richard’s wife Alejandra Silva gave birth to a son in New York.
Unlike his father, Homer prefers to stay out of the spotlight. He resides in New York.
Based on appearances, it seems Richard has passed on his irresistible charm and attractive looks to his son.
Occasionally, Homer can be found in public with his father, but as mentioned, Homer is not a fan of the spotlight. They were together at Europe’s largest children’s film festival, the “Giffoni Film Festival,” in Italy.
