Lone 86-Year-Old Thinks He’s Facing Death Until Heroic Dog Saves the Day

No one can predict when a heart attack might strike, especially for older individuals. The fear of experiencing it alone is even more daunting.

86-year-old Rudy Armstrong found himself in this very situation, but fortunately, his loyal chihuahua named Bubu became his savior.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rudy relocated to his self-built motorboat to isolate himself and enjoy the serene surroundings with his companion, Bubu.

A Terrifying Moment

One fateful morning, while Rudy was having his morning coffee, a life-threatening incident unfolded.

“I was in my chair, drinking my coffee, and suddenly, it was already lunchtime,” he recounted to WNCT-TV.

“I couldn’t move my hands or feet,” Rudy added.

A Desperate Call for Help

After minutes of immobility, Rudy realized he was having a heart attack with no one around to assist. Unable to reach for his phone, he was stranded, except for his faithful companion, Bubu.

“Okay, Bubu, buddy, I need your help,” Rudy implored his little chihuahua, his beacon of hope.

A Life-Saving Bond

Bubu seemed to comprehend the urgency and dashed out of the house to fetch the harbor master who was in the vicinity. Thanks to Bubu’s quick actions, Rudy received immediate first aid and an ambulance was called in.

“Rudy and Bubu share a special bond. When he couldn’t reach for help, he looked at Bubu and said, ‘Okay, Bubu, buddy, go get Kim,'” narrated harbor master Kim to Western Journal.

Thanks to Bubu’s bravery, Rudy got the help he needed promptly after his heart attack. Share this inspiring story if you agree that dogs truly are humans’ best friends.
