When our beloved dogs go missing or run away, it’s a real tragedy. You don’t know where they are, and it’s hard for other people to know what to look for if they don’t know what they look like.
But some police officers found a dog that they thought was reported missing.
They called the owner, who asked the officers to do something unexpected with the dog to make sure it was his.
Siberian huskies are a very stubborn and independent breed who do nothing against their will. But they are also known for their beautiful appearance and their howling and barking.
For some reason, the husky in this story went missing, disappeared. Far away from his owner in Beersheba, in the south of Israel.
Message received about missing dog
Somehow the husky got lost and was found by a group of young people who brought him to a police station.
The police had received a report earlier about a lost husky, but it could very well have been a different husky. And the last thing you want to do as a police officer is give the wrong dog to the wrong owner.
Calling the owner
So the officers decided to call the man whose dog had gone missing. They said they had the dog in their office. But to ensure that it was the right dog, the police asked the man to come over.
But it was a long journey for the man, and he didn’t want to waste time. So he asked the police officers if they could just check if it was his dog. “How?” asked the officers surprised.
Verifying the right dog
At that, the man asked the officers to play the dog’s two favorite songs. “Believe in yourself” from the TV series Arthur and the tune from the Israeli show Shemesh. This was reported by Paw My Gosh.
The officers found this rather strange, but the man insisted that if the dog sings along, then it is definitely his dog. So the police gave it a try.

And the answer was truly magical! The husky immediately wagged his tail, a happy look appeared on his face. He howled along with the music and had a great time. Overjoyed.
The owner exclaimed over the phone “yes, that’s my dog!”. The man immediately drove to the police station and was reunited with his dog. And the husky himself? He was delighted to be back in his owner’s arms.
Time to return home and hopefully they can watch their favorite TV shows together and sing along for a long time to come.
