When nobody wanted to adopt the old dog from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, a true animal lover stepped in and demonstrated what genuine love is.
When little Gnocchi, now named Gucci, arrived at the shelter, finding a loving home for him proved to be very challenging.
No one expressed interest or was willing to adopt the elderly dog.
Adopts old dog for 101st birthday
Suddenly, a special request came in, to which Alice Ensor, a shelter worker, responded.
The woman interested in adopting him was named Johanna, and she was 100 years old.
“I knew Johanna had to be an exceptional dog lover seeking a new furry friend just before her 101st birthday,” she shared with The Dodo.
And it turned out to be a perfect match.
Beautiful words about the special bond
Johanna and Gucci became instant best friends, and she was exactly the loving and caring mother he had been longing for.
He has been living with Johanna for over a year now and is enjoying every moment.
As she approaches her 102nd birthday, they look forward to many more wonderful years together.
“It has been a fantastic year with Gucci,” Johanna expressed to The Dodo. “He brings me so much joy! I adore it when he sits on my lap and keeps me company. Having Gucci in my life gives me someone to love and care for, and that truly makes a difference at my age.”
