Meghan Sussex’s Childhood Favorite Drink: A Special Tradition Passed Down to Her Children

Meghan Sussex (in her new Netflix series she made it very clear that she is no longer called Markle) shared in With Love, Meghan, which has been airing for a week, a recipe for a drink she often made when she was young herself and now also makes for her children, Archie (5) and Lilibet (3).

Meghan Sussex shares a special recipe in her new series

In the fourth episode of the series, Meghan shows how she makes ‘sun tea’. How do you do that? You fill a tea bag with ingredients of your choice and put it in a large pot or carafe with water. Then you put it outside in the sun for a while so the tea can steep with the help of the sun’s warmth.

According to Meghan, she already made this drink as a child. It’s not surprising that she shared the recipe in With Love, Meghan, as the series is all about cooking, gardening, and entertaining.

Soulfood

Meghan shared with People that she loved everything her mother, Doria Ragland, used to make for her, and that Archie and Lilibet now love what Meghan makes.

‘Some of my favorite moments from my childhood are the meals my mother made. She made a lot of soulfood. I remember she took a Thai cooking class, so every week we would have Thai BBQ chicken and spring rolls. I remember those flavors so well, and I want my children to have the same formative memories of the things I cook. We call them Mama Meals, and those are the meals I hope they come back to when they are older, when they are married, and they have their own children, and then they say, “Oh, let’s have a Mama Meal.” And it’s the same roasted chicken I’ve been making since they were little,’ Meghan said.
