During her much-anticipated interview with Drew Barrymore, Meghan Sussex discussed Princess Diana. Barrymore shared a photo from when Meghan was a child actor and had met Diana.
A Memorable Encounter
The meeting took place at the London premiere of Barrymore’s movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982. Meghan’s reaction to the photo was one of joy and nostalgia. She remarked, ‘Oh, how sweet. Oh, that is beautiful. Look at your little face! Oh, that is so sweet. It’s so special that you have this. Oh!’
‘It was one of the most special moments of my life,’ Barrymore recalled. ‘It means so much to me to have met such an incredible human being who transcended everything. It was the honor of my life,’ she added.
Honoring Diana
Meghan never had the chance to meet Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, who tragically passed away in 1997. Nonetheless, Meghan pays homage to Diana in her own way, often through her choice of clothing and jewelry.
Every day, Meghan wears the gold Cartier Tank watch gifted to her by Harry, a timepiece that once belonged to Diana. During a visit to Nigeria last year, Meghan also adorned herself with a necklace that had been Diana’s. Furthermore, in her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex is seen sporting a cozy Northwestern sweater that pays homage to Diana’s iconic style.
