It is always heartbreaking when people leave their dogs in an animal shelter, but an Australian woman who left her dog in a shelter did so in a very extreme way.
She dumped the dog all alone in a shelter, and then casually took a selfie flipping off her middle finger.
The shelter in question has a night hatch where people can “dump” their animals if they can’t take care of them at night.
But the woman caught on camera had bad intentions when dropping off the dog. When the photos appeared on the internet, people were furious because it wasn’t her own dog, but someone else’s. She did this out of revenge.
The poor, confused dog was now all alone. He wasn’t chipped, so the shelter couldn’t know where the animal came from.
It’s crazy to imagine someone could be so heartless and cruel to dump a dog like this… but fortunately, this story ended positively for this poor puppy.
The shelter contacted the owner of the dog. The man had left his dog with his sister when he was out of town, but it’s not clear if the woman in the photo is his sister. That’s what a user on the social networking site Reddit explained.
“If her identity is discovered, she may have to pay a fine, but usually their identity is never found,” the user explained.
They also said that before the owner was found, many people offered to adopt the dog. This goes to show, even in cases of animal neglect and abuse, there are still good people willing to help.
