Midnight Madness: A Night Out Turns into a Home Invasion

When you step out of your home, you expect everything to be just as you left it upon your return. Mike Cox and his wife shared this same expectation when they headed out for a night of fun.

As the evening passed by, they enjoyed themselves without a care. However, upon coming back home, they were met with a scene that left them in disbelief.

Their house had been ransacked—furniture destroyed, windows shattered, walls vandalized, and floors covered in graffiti. To add to the mess, the house was littered with empty beer cans and wine bottles.

It was evident that a wild party had taken place in their absence.

The damage was estimated to be over $10,000.

Beyond the physical wreckage, some attendees had recorded the chaos and shared the videos on social media.

Devastated, Mike and his wife were determined to get to the bottom of the incident.

How did these teenagers single out their house? And what made them think the coast was clear for a party?

It turned out that someone had noticed their nearly $2 million house was up for sale and assumed it was unoccupied due to the search for a new owner. Unfortunately, the couple being away that night was just unfortunate timing.

This incident draws parallels to the movie “Project X,” inspired by the true story of Australian teenager Corey Worthington, who threw a massive party while his parents were away.

The repercussions were severe, leading to widespread destruction in the neighborhood. Police were assaulted, and neighbors had to be rescued. Corey’s nonchalant TV interview afterward added to the audacity of the situation.

Listen to Mike recount the ordeal in the video below:
