In a nutshell: Mindy calls Meghan ‘Markle’, to which Meghan responds that she now goes by Sussex as her last name. This moment quickly went viral.
Alyssa Farrah Griffin, a host on The View, asked Mindy about her experience on the widely-discussed show. Mindy humorously remarked, ‘I always get attention when anything with Meghan is involved,’ before pausing. Whoopi Goldberg then quipped, ‘Major news.’ To which Mindy agreed, ‘Definitely, major news.’
Reflecting on the moment when Meghan’s surname was brought up, Mindy Kaling shared, ‘We were making sandwiches, then TikTok zoomed in on my face and claimed to decipher my emotions, but honestly, I couldn’t recall it since we filmed it nine months ago. I had a delightful time with Meghan.’
