Reports of animals killed in the Australian bushfires continue to pour in. Many survivors, however, have lost their families and remain alone without parents.
An organization is now doing everything possible to rescue these babies and ensure that another generation of animals does not fall victim to these horrific fires.
‘Type of trauma’
Volunteers from the Agile Project received a call about seven kangaroo babies who were orphaned when their mother died in the fires. Although the seven little kangaroos are not all related to each other, they all lost their mothers in the same region.
“When they first arrived at our center, they were very stressed because they were all traumatized,” Shai Ager of Agile Project tells The Dodo.
“Some of them had minor injuries, but despite what they had been through, they were still full of energy.”
Tribute to the brave firefighters
“Two males are now named Andrew and Geoffrey, a tribute to the brave firefighters who tragically lost their lives while fighting the fires.”
“Chris, Ash, Margot, Celeste, and Rebel are other names of well-known Australians for their generous help to affected people and animals,” the organization writes in a post on Facebook.

The statistics are discouraging and downright shocking, but it is thanks to organizations like this that there is still hope.
Please share this to support all volunteers, firefighters, and organizations who are doing everything to save the animals.
