Many people find becoming a mother a joyful experience – unfortunately, there are others who have a completely different feeling about it. As a result, some new mothers take extreme measures once they have given birth.
Denis Saranzev works as a guard at a factory in Russia. He does his rounds every day to ensure that everything on the premises is in order.
One day he was at work when he suddenly heard a strange sound. He thought he heard a baby crying in the woods and decided to go and check to see if what he heard was really true.
The man followed the sound which led him to a ditch. Among the mud and trash, he saw a small arm sticking out. He cleared the debris and saw a tightly knotted plastic bag. He opened the bag and to his horror, he saw a small baby girl inside the bag.
Based on her weight, he thought she was only a few days old.
She was covered in mud, filth, as well as insects and ants. The ants were clearly eating at her eyes and crawling in her ears. The poor child was in terrible condition.
She was immediately taken to the hospital and Denis contacted the police asking them to meet him there, reports URA.ru.
The ants were already deep in the baby’s ear canal and her eyes were filled with pus. At the hospital, the medical staff estimated the baby to be about five days old. That she had survived was considered a miracle. She was named Kristina.
It didn’t take long for the police to catch Kristina’s biological mother. The 22-year-old Olesja.
Olesja was arrested. She claimed she had been abused and raped, but when the police asked for more details about the abuse, she broke down and told the truth.
Olesja simply didn’t want to keep the baby and had left her in the woods to die.
Ultimately, the police also found the baby’s father, Andrej. Kristina’s story had been on the news multiple times. The baby’s father had read it, but had never imagined it could be his own daughter.
The man had no idea he was going to be a father.
Andrej had a brief relationship with Olesja. That relationship ended when she became pregnant and told him she would have an abortion. That was the last he had heard from her.
As soon as Andrej heard the news about his baby daughter, he rushed to the hospital to see her.
At the hospital, a DNA test confirmed that Kristina was indeed Andrej’s daughter. He didn’t think twice and took her home. His wife, Tatyana had no objection to expanding their small family.
Olesja received a suspended sentence of two years. Some think she is getting off too lightly, considering she harmed a baby. In fact, her own baby!
Kristina definitely has a guardian angel. She lives with her father and stepmother, who love her very much – much more than her biological mother ever did.
I can’t imagine anything worse than harming an innocent child. Fortunately, this story has a happy ending.
