When Elizabeth Kough had three children, she decided to have her fallopian tubes removed so she wouldn’t become pregnant again.
But four years after the operation, the unthinkable happened: the pregnancy test turned out positive.
Becoming pregnant can be emotionally different for many people.
For some, it can feel heavy, for others, it’s the happiest moment in life when the test is positive.
But for Elizabeth Kough from Missouri, USA, it was probably mainly the shock that hit her when she discovered that there was a child in her womb.
The shock when the news came
Elizabeth had previously had three children, and when she found out she was pregnant despite her fallopian tubes being removed, she was incredibly surprised.
“I was just shocked because it couldn’t happen,” she explained.
After a doctor confirmed she was pregnant, she even chose to go to another doctor just to be absolutely sure the first one did it right.
“We went to the hospital and they did an ultrasound, and they told us he was in my uterus. And he looked good, he was healthy, and it was a normal pregnancy.”
“He is big and strong”
The chance of getting pregnant after removing fallopian tubes is extremely small. Many doctors have never even heard of it.
But for Elizabeth and her family, it was a pleasant addition, even though it wasn’t planned. They now call the boy their ‘angel.’
“He is big and strong, he is a healthy boy.”

How did Elizabeth manage to get pregnant despite the surgery she underwent?
According to a doctor and expert in gynecology, this would have happened because when removing the fallopian tubes, there is a possibility that a small hole may form. This would allow the fertilized egg to reach the uterus through this very tiny hole.
