Recently in India, a heartwarming incident took place where a mother dog was discovered with an abandoned newborn baby, whom she sheltered in the cold to keep warm.
As reported by SWNS, locals in Chhattisgarh found the infant in a shed after hearing her cries. The baby, naked and with the umbilical cord intact, seemed to have been left behind by her parents.
Fortunately, the baby was not alone. She was discovered alongside a mother dog and her puppies, who had cuddled up to keep the baby warm through the cold night.
Witnesses speculated that the mother dog’s maternal instincts played a vital role in saving the infant’s life during the drop in temperature overnight.
One resident told SWNS, “The warmth of the puppies and their mother likely aided in keeping this newborn alive.”
Authorities intervened, and the baby, now named Akanksha, was taken to the hospital for examination by medical professionals.
A criminal investigation is underway to locate the irresponsible parents of the child. A resident named Premnath expressed, “They are not parents, they are criminals.”
Despite the distressing circumstances, it is indeed a miracle that the baby survived, all thanks to the caring mother dog.
