Tracy Blinov left her 7-month-old daughter, Eliana, at Busy Hands Daycare in Montana, USA, one year ago before heading to work.
Shortly after, she received a call from a Busy Hands staff member concerning an unforgettable incident.
Upon learning that her daughter had been bitten, Tracy rushed to the center to check on her.
Upon arrival, as reported by krtv.com news station, Tracy witnessed a distressing scene.
Eliana’s face wasn’t just bitten once; it was covered in marks from an older child.
While children biting is common, Tracy was alarmed by how long it took for the staff to intervene, seeing the extent of her daughter’s injuries.
After reviewing daycare surveillance footage days later, Tracy discovered that Eliana had been attacked for over 90 seconds before anyone intervened to separate the children.
She had over ten bite marks on her face and body.
I don’t get it. I never will. Who let’s this kind of thing happen? I Let Eliana go to Busy Hands, and in less than 2…

An investigation was initiated following the incident to determine the delayed response of the staff.
The daycare asserted that they immediately tended to Eliana upon hearing her screams.
Previous Bite
The two-year-old responsible for the attack had recently joined the daycare.
A week earlier, the toddler had been expelled from another facility for biting another child.
Regrettably, the child’s mother did not inform Busy Hands about this incident, leading to the unforeseen behavior on their premises.
Owner of ABC Fox Montana stated, “This toddler who came in, was new, and she failed to inform us that the child was a biter and failed to inform us that she had been kicked out of Little Griz the week prior for biting a child.”
“Had that been told to us, we’d have been able to say, ‘No, we can’t take her.’”
Due to the severity of the bites, Eliana had to undergo antibiotics. Despite her injuries, she remained cheerful just days after the incident.
Tracy wrote on Facebook about the incident:
‘She’s in much better spirits today. I’m happy to say the bruising and swelling is coming down a little, it’s amazing how resilient babies are. So blown away by the support from everyone.’

According to Montana regulations, there should be a maximum of four toddlers per adult at a daycare.
Following Eliana’s ordeal, Busy Hands announced plans to reduce this ratio to two children per employee to prevent future incidents.
When we entrust our children to daycare, we expect their well-being and safety to be a priority.
Parents understand how quickly accidents can occur, underscoring the importance of vigilant supervision.
The delayed response in assisting Eliana highlights the need for a reevaluation of daycare practices. It is essential for parents to communicate any relevant information, such as prior incidents, when enrolling their children.

We hope Eliana’s parents feel reassured to trust daycare again, with the expectation that centers like Busy Hands will enhance their practices to ensure adequate supervision for all children.
